"La Musique c'est Physique!" by Hélène Scrive (Pop Artist from Quebec, Canada)

"La Musique c'est Physique!" is the latest released album from the French/Canadian singer/songwriter Hélène Scrive. It is a Pop album, sung with French lyrics, in which Scrive works her distinctively sensual voice around danceable, electronic beats. Kicking off the CD, the title song, "La Musique c'est Physique!," is an almost 80's like song in which building synthesizers meet with Scrive's vocals before transforming into an all out dance song. In "Annabelle" Scrive calms things down a bit and lets her seductive and cool voice be the focus of the number with lyrics of heartfelt tonality. "Solitude Amoureuse" is a song that is quite danceable as it maintains a solid, steady, and driving beat with catchy vocals. This is an album for those that enjoy the style of electro-diva-pop, enjoy disco-friendly songs, and eloquent French singing. If either of these descriptions sounds like it's within your tastes, then "La Musique c'est Physique!" is an album you should listen to immediately.

"Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor : The Remixes" by Farrad (Pop Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

"Pick Your Face Up Off The Floor : The Remixes" by electronic/funk artist Farrad, is a collection of 12 unique dance remixes of the title song, and includes the bonus track, "Praise 2 The DJ." Although the album primarily fits into the dance or techno genre, the influence of 80's rock and pop as well as hip-hop and R&B are a part of the mix. The tracks move from steady beats to ecstatic ones to slower ones, but all charge the listener to get up and dance their heart out. The "Ron Kurti Remix" is particularly unique in that it has the bass line of good Detroit house, but also features the mesmerizing influence of DJ Tiesto which, when brought together, makes for a high energy dance track - for all of six minutes. On the "JJ Appleton Remix," a funky discotheque theme is more prevalent. The mood is bubbly on this track while the bass line remains thumping. This album is a stepping stone for this artist and listeners of the dance genre should keep an eye on him as his music is sure to grow in popularity in the new year.

"Here Comes The Break Up" by Chris Holiman & The Downtown Saints (Pop Artist from Arizona(AZ))

This new CD by Chris Holiman & The Downtown Saints is called "Here Comes The Break Up." It is an album that features the words and voice of Chris Holiman, a skilled guitarist and fine singer-songwriter. In "Your Fallin'," Chris sings with beautiful harmony over quickly paced, yet calm, acoustic guitar playing. "Rush" is a pleasant tune that moves from a pop-rock style to a bluesy sound and back again. In "Mailbox," Chris lets his angst and sorrow show as he expressively pours his heart out over an evocative rock backing. This is an album that is anchored in Holiman's excellent vocals and a varied pop-rock style that doesn't shy away from exploring the darker elements of the singer's world. That being said, "Here Comes The Break Up" leans more towards an adult-contemporary sound over that of traditional pop-rock but, overall, Chris Holiman has delivered a terrific CD for fans of gifted singer-songwriters.

"Down 2 Us" by Roshan & Shivani (Pop Artist from Hawaii(HI))

Roshan & Shivani deftly mix Adult Contemporary andJazz influences into their Pop rhythms andUrban grooves on the terrific 11-song CD, "Down 2 Us." With Roshan's splendid guitar work providing the framework, Shivani's warm and supple voice weaves in and around melodies with inspired freshness. On the playful "Simon Says," for example, Roshan's funky guitar work is the perfect backdrop to Shivani's sly and effervescent vocal, a danceable combination of pure delight. On the blues-inspired "The Last Ride," Roshan expertly channels B.B. King's tone and phrasing while Shivani gives a nuanced and impeccable performance that's a testament to the genre's enduring legacy. "Anything You Want" is a solid R&B number bolstered by horns and spot-on rhythm section, whereas the Caribbean-flavored "Mankind" delivers its uplifting message with bountiful joy. Boasting all original songs, Roshan & Shivani's "Down 2 Us" CD is an Urban-leaning, Pop-infused collection that finds two fine performers at the top of their respective games.
