"Alone with You" by Clinton Strowder (Pop Artist from California(CA))

"Alone with You" by Clinton Strowder is an impressive high energy pop album by a very talented singer. The well polished production quality makes the tracks crisply pump out of your speakers. The album opens with the catchy ballad "Biography" where Clinton sings to the heavens. "Dream to be" is a great pop tune reminiscent of 80s pop stars such as Lionel Richie. The track features a great funk guitar scratch technique, which would put even "Superfly" himself to shame. The standout track is the album's first single "First kiss" which is about that special first kiss between two passionate lovers. The track also features more funk elements with heavy slap bass to flow with the soulful melody. One of our favorite tracks is "Stay With Me" which features all the makings for a hit - group vocals, hand claps and a catchy beat to go along with the catchy chorus. Overall this is a great pop album which also features elements of soul, funk and even jazz. Be sure to check this one out, especially if you're a fan of soulful pop artists such as Lionel Richie, Boys to Men and even Michael Jackson.

“Feed the Need” by Feed the Need (Pop/Rock artist from Long Island, New York (NY))

"Feed the Need" is an enjoyable self-titled rock album with surf rock and jazz elements from Feed the Need. Though all four band members are still in high school, Feed the Need has crafted an album that displays their strong musical capabilities on guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. The vocals are youthful and the lyrics are full of angst, as many of the songs are undoubtedly about the girls they obsess over at their schools. Nevertheless, you'll find yourself bobbing your head to the beat and singing along with the catchy choruses, agreeing that "Weirdness makes the world go 'round." The title track "Feed the Need" is well recorded and allows these youngsters to be heard to their full potential. "Light Up My World" has great keyboard and guitar progressions at the introduction and a catchy chorus to boot. The highlight of the album is "Without Words," which is an instrumental jam session with great bass and keyboard lines and an impressive guitar solo showcasing the band's musical finesse. Anyone who enjoys quirky, youthful surf rock should check out this fine album.

"Good Company" by SyndiLee (Pop/Folk artist from Washington (WA))

"Good Company" is the acoustic folk rock debut from talented female singer/songwriter SyndiLee. SyndiLee is a passionate vocalist that puts everything into each and every word she sings. Her vocals are very good too, with a good mix of strength and beauty reminiscent of female singer/songwriter predecessors Melissa Etheridge and KT Tunstall. Her lyrics are poetic, intelligent, and socially conscious, and her great deliveries make it easy to sing along. The arrangements behind her vary both in style and in instrumentation but remain true to the pure, acoustic folk sound. "Good Company" has a great production quality that both accentuates the vocals and represents the accompaniment well. Highlights include the title track, "Good Company," with beautiful guitar progressions and an intimate, soulful vocal performance. "New Moon" brings a Celtic flair with the addition of flute and accordion adding a nice dimension to the sound. "Ghost" wraps things up nicely with touching lyrics and another fine vocal performance. Overall, "Good Company" is an impressive debut from SyndiLee that will please both sides of the brain. If you enjoy intelligent female singer/songwriters and acoustic folk rock, pick up this album.

"La Tin-va Fitness" by Johnny Latin (Latin/Pop artist from Los Angeles, California (CA))

"La Tin-va Fitness" is a Latin pop album constructed for the purpose of turning anyone into a dancer and keeping them fit from Johnny Latin. This release is certainly an experience, as it comes with a music-filled CD as well as a step-by-step dance instruction DVD based upon the classes conducted by Johnny in the Southern California area. It is no secret that Latin music possesses a great amount of energy and flair, and the music from this collection is no exception. It's full of quirky percussion, hip turning beats, stabbing horns, and dance-style vocals. The production value is very good, as the album is mixed to play loud. Highlights include "Move Your Body," a track you can sing along with as it takes you through a sweaty house/pop musical experience. "Mamasita" has a thick, punchy beat, and tremendous sex appeal. "Johnny" is a whirlwind of beats, moves fast and challenges you to test your endurance. "La Tin-va Fitness" is a really unique concept for an album, and it delivers as a musical experience, a dance lesson, and a workout all in one. If you enjoy finding exciting new ways of keeping fit and dancing along to Latin pop music, give Johnny Latin a try.

"Taking Chances" by Gunner Jump (Rock/Pop artist from California (CA))

Gunner Jump's "Taking Chances" is a Christian country rock EP brought to you by the powerful duo of Jon Jump and J.G. "Gunner" Franklin. The influence of '70s southern rock is a big part of the sound, as well as blues, funk, and R&B, and the emphasis on good songwriting is well apparent throughout. Gunner's vocals are energetic, and he delivers the inspiring and well thought out lyrics nicely with a great rock feel. The arrangements showcase Gunner Jump's great variance in what is largely an arena sound. There are some creative changes as well as instruments introduced that are clearly inspired by genres outside of Christian country rock. The production quality is good, so turn up the volume on this one. Highlights include "California," with its gritty lead guitar and great rock lyrics, and the addition of horns in the chorus adds a burst of power. "Remember Me" has a nice acoustic guitar progression, inspiring lyrics, and a great vocal performance. "You're My Girl" opens with an uncharacteristic drum machine and evolves into a beautiful love song. If you enjoy spiritual southern rock that takes a few chances, give Gunner Jump a try.
